Ellen DeGeneres Bio by Kate Johns

Ellen DeGeneres is a superstar in her own right, doing it her way just like Frank Sinatra sang in his song, "I did it my way." many years ago. Ellen is a strong person, with a strong but very likeable personality, who has worked hard to become a superstar millionaire celebrity.

Ellen DeGeneres was born on January 26, 1958 in Metairia, Lousiana. After graduating from high school in 1976, Ellen went to college for one year for communications. She dropped out to find herself working menial jobs of secretary and as a salesclerk at J. C. Penny's. Soon she started performing stand up comedy at numerous comedy clubs earning her chops, and developing her signature style; laid back, noticing the little things in life, and making them funny.

She scored a TV show of her own called ,"These Friends of Mine," in the early 1990's. The show was later renamed , " The Ellen Show,"in 1994. Ellen came out as a lesbian on her show, in 1997 after hinting at being gay and kidding around with the subject on the show. Ellen starred in another TV show centered around herself that lasted for one season--from 2001 to 2002.

In 2003, Ellen began her hugely successful "Ellen" TV talk show, which at first was not hugely successful. After revamping the show, and moving 'Ellen' to different time slots, the show became a huge hit with Ellen's trademark "bad dancing."
In 2012  "Ellen" won 12 Emmy's.
Weird that Ellen became famous for hosting many awards shows such as The Grammy's in '96 and '97, and The Emmy's in 2001 and 2005, and then she won many Emmy's for her humorous, uplifting TV talk show.
Ellen's main trademark is to wear black pants, and dark colors, but she will occasionally wear white pants, or possibly a long dress.
Ellen was in a three year long relationship with actress Anne Heche, who became well known more for her strabge behavior, rather than for her acting skills.
Ellen DeGeneres starred in a movie called, "Mr. Wrong," and was the voice of  the short term memory loss character, Dory, in "Finding Nemo", in 2003.

Even though Ellen is a successful millionaire celebrity, she certainly does not act like it, as we will never see Ellen partying with her 'peeps' at a nightclub like so many other stars, such as Lindsay Lohan. Ellen is more the laid back type who would rather stay at home with her wife, Portia de Rossi, whom she married in 2008.
