Supermodels that are still working even though they are getting older by Kate Johns

Some of the supermodels from the 1980's and 1990's have created long lasting careers in other areas, such as Brooke Shields becoming an older actress. Heidi Klum was still modeling for Victoria Secret even though she is considered to be over the hill as far as being a tall, gorgeous model goes. Not bad for a woman with four kids, and being almost forty!! Tyra Banks has stepped off the pages of famous magazines and created an entire production company under her name, creating a top rated show about models called, "America's Next Top Model.

It's fascinating to watch as these beautiful women get older and look great while they do it. They are paving a pathway for older women to look stylish and grow old gracefully. That's why the super models from the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's are in such high demand today. As women are growing older due to a large population of baby boomer women, entering their forties, fifties, and sixties, they are representing regular, women as our role models.
Women need other women to represent us in society so that we always have someone to look up to. Everyone needs a positive role model in life. Just as teenage girls have Taylor Swift, we women need positive influences to guide us into our exciting later years. With baby boomer women getting older, there are many products companies can sell to women who make their own money and have raised their kids.
Baby boomer women represent a large demographic in society that spend millions of dollars every year on looking good. Therefore, supermodels from ten, twenty and even thirty years ago, are still commanding expensive magazines with ads for clothing, shoes, wigs, vacations, jewelry, and plastic surgery.

There's money at risk here! That's why older supermodels are enjoying longer careers. Many models start their careers in their early teens, when they are super skinny, and end those careers at the ripe old age of 25, because they can't stay super skinny, and young looking forever. But a few of those supermodels created new businesses, such as Tyra Banks, with her Bankable Productions. Christie Brinkley still models today for an older woman's clothing line,  is acting in movies, and she is appearing in Broadway plays. Helena Christensen, now in her forties still models lingerie and occasionally models completely naked for major businesses such as Reebok Sneakers.
Super models are enjoying longer careers, because we women are growing older not only gracefully, but beautifully.Copyright 2010, written by talented writer Kate johns, who has been writing professionally since 2004!
